Dr. Serguei Beloussov is the founder of the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) and multiple global IT companies, including Acronis. Currently serving as Acronis Executive Board Member and Chief Research Officer – before this role, Dr. Serguei Beloussov served as Acronis’ Chief Executive Officer from 2013-2021.
He was born in the USSR to a family of physicists of Jewish descent. He moved from USSR to Singapore in 1994, became a Singaporean resident then – turning a citizen in 2001. He is a Singaporean tech entrepreneur, businessman, investor, speaker and renowned thought leader on cyber protection, cloud automation, and virtualization. He has founded over 20 companies, including Acronis, Parallels, Virtuozzo, Odin, Acumatica, Runa Capital, Phystech Ventures, and Qwave Capital venture funds.
Dr. Serguei Beloussov is also passionate about quantum physics; he sat on the Governing Board of the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore from 2012-2017 and co founded a global venture firm, QWave Capital, to invest in new quantum technologies.
He holds a B.S. in Physics, an M.S. (Hons) in Physics and Electrical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from MIPT. Dr. Serguei Beloussov filed over 350 patents (USPTO) with an H-index of 40.
